"I first started working out when I was fifteen. At that time I was a lean kid, high metabolism, couldn't gain any weight. I didn't play any sports, was not a big fan of team events.

However, at that time, my sister, her boyfriend and his friend introduced me to weight lifting. It was great! Something I can do on my own and something I enjoyed doing during that summer.

The great thing about the process over the summer time was I gained muscle, size and weight! When I went back to school in the fall, people at my school were beside themselves, surprised by my transformation.

As years moved on, I’ve progressed and learned new ways of exercising. From circuit style, to calisthenics, boxing, kickboxing, yoga, conditioning, different forms of equipment.

The more I learned about ways of not only improving my physical health, led me to wanting to learn more about my overall holistic health. I read books, both new and old on how to improve myself daily. To me thats what its all about. About growing as a person, trying new things, opening my mind to possibilities and redefining what I think health truly means.

At one point it was about looking good. Now to me I prioritize function over fashion. Am I improving? Am I getting stronger, faster, more agile, better endurance, kinder, smarter, more wise?
