Bodybuilder 2.0: From the Field to the Forge
My fitness journey began on the football field and javelin runway as an athlete at Wichita West High, Coffeyville Community College, and Eastern Michigan University. Fitness was a non-negotiable part of my identity, demanding strength, agility, and explosive power.
After college, I entered the corporate world at Quicken Loans. Long hours and a sedentary job caused my discipline to erode, and my weight climbed to 265 pounds. Later, an intense period of grief, divorce, and caring for my ailing father brought me to a low point, where I dropped unhealthily to 195 pounds due to depression.
It was in that low moment that I found my true calling. I went back to school for personal training and for the last 20 years have dedicated my life to helping others, and in doing so, I helped myself. I fought my way back to a powerful, strong physique, which I maintain around 230 pounds.
My mission is crystallized in my business, SHRED LLC, where I serve clients from six-year-old athletes to an 88-year-old senior. My ability to help them is rooted in my own struggles—overcoming a major shoulder separation and navigating a total knee replacement at age 47. I know the discipline and consistency it takes to come back stronger.
My Mantra: SHRED - Stronger, Healthier Routines Each Day... It's a lifestyle!
