ALESSANDRA PREVITE

Acton, ON

My fitness journey began when I was just 12 years old. It all started with a simple push-up competition with my little brother. After winning, my dad sat me down and said, "If you wake up and do 20 sit-ups, 20 push-ups, and hold a plank for 2 minutes every day, you could become the strongest woman in the world." I took his advice to heart, and each morning, I would wake up and follow that routine diligently.

This early discipline helped me realize the importance of positive and healthy lifestyle habits. Even with the limited resources of the dial-up internet era, I would research more exercises and workouts on YouTube. Incorporating these exercises into my daily routine laid the foundation for my strength today. Alongside my athletic background in soccer, hockey, volleyball, track and field, and cross country, working out gave me an edge in all the sports I played.

I didn't step into an actual gym until I was 14 when I was in high school, training for soccer. The impact of fitness on my life has been overwhelmingly positive. The gym has become my happy place, where the endorphins after workouts are beyond imaginable. Lifting weights makes me feel good, strong, and untouchable, and the physical benefits are a total bonus! We only have one body in this life, so I do my best to take care of it by fueling it properly and prioritizing recovery to support its longevity.

Through my involvement in several gyms, working as a personal trainer, gym receptionist, and teaching group fitness classes, I've had the privilege of networking with like-minded individuals. I've been inspired by their drive, consistency, and self-motivation, and it's incredibly fulfilling to help others start their fitness journeys and support their health and fitness goals.

One of my long-standing dreams has been to become a Gymshark Athlete. This goal has always motivated me to keep working out and pushing past my limits. Recently, I've been balancing my lifts with martial arts, diving into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. This new chapter in my fitness journey has been incredibly humbling, teaching me valuable lessons in discipline and resilience.

Looking ahead, I aspire to compete in a Bikini, Figure, or Physique Competition to showcase all of my hard work. I plan to continue building on my martial arts skills, recognizing the immense benefits this type of training has on my performance in all the sports I participate in, whether individual or team-based. Functional training remains central in my approach, enhancing my abilities across various activities.

I also intend to keep attending fun fitness events for networking, learning, and exposure purposes. These experiences are invaluable as I continue to build my personal fitness empire. My journey is far from over, and I am committed to achieving my goals and inspiring others along the way.
