highlighting the untold stories of bodybuilders

Jessica Jung

Berkeley, California

"When I went to college and moved away from home, I was at my lowest and had no self confidence whatsoever. I never really dealt with physical insecurities growing up because I had such a strong support group of friends and family who uplifted me, but at this point in my life, I felt alone." says Jess (IG: jessjfitness), "I began to hate the way I looked and I physically felt horrible because I just stayed in my dorm 24/7, which was very unlike me since I grew up always being active. I decided to check out my school’s gym because I knew if I didn’t like the way I looked or felt, I was the only one who could do anything about it. As I trained overtime, I saw so many changes in myself not only physically but also mentally. I learned to build confidence from my own self rather than from others because I knew that everything I built was from my own hard work and dedication. The gym became a huge part of my life. It was the place I could destress and just feel like myself again." she adds.

"Fast forward three years later, I am the most confident I have ever felt and am personal training in hopes of helping others experience the benefits of training in their own lives." she says.
