Richmond, VA
Hey there! I'm Briana, or Bri for short. I proudly hold double certifications as both a personal trainer and group exercise instructor accredited by ACE. Currently, I'm fully immersed in my role as a fitness instructor within a vibrant retirement community, while also dedicating part of my time to nurturing my fitness brand, Rhythm & Breeze.
My journey into fitness was seeded in me at a young age. From the tender ages of 5 to 19, I devoted my spare moments to the competitive realms of cheerleading and track athletics. Embracing the ethos of surrounding oneself with like-minded individuals, I've always sought roles in gyms or athletic footwear stores part-time. Such environments offer rich opportunities to explore diverse paths toward fitness goals, each as unique as the individuals pursuing them.
Graduating from Old Dominion University in 2019 with a BS in Recreation Therapy, I briefly pivoted toward mental health advocacy. Yet, after two years immersed in behavioral health settings, I realized it wasn't my ultimate calling. The weight of discontent settled upon me, both figuratively and literally, as I gained over 25 lbs—the heaviest burden I'd ever carried.
The transition back to fitness wasn't just a career move; it was a pivotal life choice. In January 2021, I bid farewell to my full-time state job to nurture the birth of Rhythm & Breeze. Since then, I've honed my skills in one-on-one training and led a variety of class formats, from Tabata to Cycle, Balance, Water Aerobics, and Bootcamp.
I cherish the diversity of exercise methods, recognizing that each individual's journey is unique. My aim is to not only impart the importance of healthy living but also to ensure that the experience is both enriching and fulfilling for every participant.
Looking toward the horizon, I envision myself as a thriving businesswoman and gym owner. My dream is to establish a sanctuary where all forms of training are welcomed and celebrated—a space that's inviting yet empowering for those striving toward their goals.
My mission in the fitness realm is clear: to inspire others to embrace an active lifestyle. I aspire to continue making meaningful impacts in people's lives, all while motivating fellow instructors and therapists-turned-trainers to keep pushing forward. So go ahead, take that leap of faith—it may just lead you to your true calling!
