"For me, working out has always felt like the most natural physical and mental therapy. It’s one of the few things you can’t farm out to anyone else.

You have to put in the work and “what you give is what you get back” and that process is one of the most self gratifying feelings and addictive once discovered.

When other things aren’t going to plan, working out is always something I’ve relied on - it’s my ‘go-to’ drug to feel good and feel in-control because it’s truly controlled by only you!

From as far back as I can recall, I've always been very active and have always loved the challenge of becoming a better version of myself both physically and mentally.

I was inspired by icons like Bruce Lee, Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan to name a few. I was mesmerised by the agility, power and strength they showed. It was like they were real life super hero’s and I wanted to have some of that.

As a kid, it felt like a superpower to be able to be do like 100 push-ups a backflip or standing splits!

At school, I was the skinny weak kid and always wanted to be stronger and more muscular like some of my peers. I recall doing a cross country run where I literally finished in the last pack. Right or wrong, popularity back in those days came from respect at being good at something - mostly physical!

I was determined to do better (I must have been 12 or 13) so I would wake up at 5am, and go for long road runs 3-5 times a week then come home and sleep some more before school.

After a few weeks, when the cross country run can back around, I came first. I continued to improve and would come first in road run and even be faster than the sports teachers at middle distance running!

Fast forward, all that stayed with me and now, working out is my physical and mental therapy. I advocate it to everyone I know.

As a father of 3, a husband with a busy work and social life, I believe you MUST find time to look after your health. It's only fair to strike the balance of indulgent eating and drinking with exercise.

It’s never too late to start your journey. Regular workouts naturally teaches you how to strike the balance when it comes to food choices and general fitness goals and before you know it, you're sub-consciously making better choices and reaping the health benefits!

Now, I share all my workouts in the hope to inspire others and prove its not rocket science. You don’t need hours, only minutes of well constructed workouts with minimal equipment to stay fit & healthy.

Balanced with sensible nutrition, you will feel amazing in you mind and body. This positive feeling will transcend into all areas of your life.

If I can, YOU can…"
