KATIE JO CASTANEDA

Carlsbad, NM

Growing up I played sports every single year. Softball was the main sport I played and ended up receiving a scholarship to play in college. That was the first time I saw the importance of working out and how it helps your body. It was about 3 years after that when I became very interested in fitness and working out. The guy I dated ended up competing and shortly after that I had been asked to do it and decided why not. I had just had my first son and competed in two Women's Figure BodyBuilding Shows before he turned a year old. It was exciting and rewarding watching my body change. Since then I have had one more son and spent every single day fascinated with the way our bodies change and develop over time. I became a group fitness instructor at one of the local gyms where I live. I taught indoor spin as well. Being pregnant and having kids never once stopped me because I have seen the benefits of being healthy and I never wanted to make an excuse that I couldn’t do anything for myself once they came along. A healthy and happy mom is a much more fun mom for them.

I’m now 13 years solid in health and fitness and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ve transformed my body and physique over the years. 2 years ago I began using some supplements from a company that I was hearing about on Instagram and decided to try them out. I loved everything about the products and just like anyone else, reviewed, talked about and shared my experience using them. A year later I was asked to become an athlete for the company and it’s been the best opportunity since. I’ve helped not just friends and family, but complete strangers reach their goals and get motivated to change their lives. You can find me on the SteelFit website as a sponsored athlete for them. I love helping others and this alone is why I love this industry.

I have goals in working with others to help them reach their full potential. I have personal goals of just being a fit mom that my boys are proud of. There’s no excuses when you want something bad enough. My boys are my inspiration and the image I portray of myself is one of determination, hard work, perseverance and strength. I have taken good times and bad throughout the years and used it all as motivation to keep me going. I’m here to tell you, YOU CAN do anything you put your mind to and don’t let anyone stop you from starting your fitness journey. If you want it for you, go get it for you!
