KELLY THOMPSON

Fishers, IN

In September of 2020, as I turned 42 amidst the challenges of a global pandemic, I decided to embark on a new adventure—weightlifting. Little did I know that what started as a hobby would evolve into a transformative and indispensable part of my life. Now, six days a week, the gym has become my sanctuary, and lifting has become more than just a fitness routine; it's a holistic wellness journey.

This newfound commitment is not just about physical health; it's a comprehensive effort to become the best version of myself and serve as a role model for my daughter. Surprisingly, at 42, I feel healthier and stronger than I did in my twenties. The persistent aches in my knees and hips have become a thing of the past, and my physique is firmer in all the right places.

Beyond the physical benefits, weightlifting has had a profound impact on my mental well-being. It has boosted my confidence, not just in terms of my body but also in embracing my identity as a woman. The year 2021 has been dedicated to personal growth and self-improvement, inside and out, and I'm eager to see the continued fruits of my commitment and hard work.

For the past decade, I've dedicated my time to full-time volunteering and philanthropy. Whether working with the local school system, coaching cheer, leading a Girl Scout Troop, or holding positions on the Board of Directors and PTO as President, my passion for helping others has been unwavering. Organizing galas, fundraising events, and volunteering for various not-for-profits, my journey is fueled by the hope that it inspires others. After all, age is no barrier to becoming the best version of ourselves.
