My name is Marcus and I am 42 years old. I started strength training in 2000, initially with a training device that I had seen on a television program in the evening. It was great fun at first. In 2002 I was a member of a gym for the first time for about 2 years. I was 21 years old then.
After that, I used to train irregularly with dumbbells at home. It was like this until 2008. Then I signed up for a gym again and trained there mostly on equipment.
Around 2012 I changed gyms and trained there for four years, where I also gained my first experience with free weights. I've been training in my current gym for 6.5 years and the first 3 years mostly on the equipment. Since 2019 I have been training mainly with free weights and do full-body training 3 to 4 times a week.
After a forced break of 4.5 weeks due to a cold, things are slowly getting better.
My main goal is to build muscle. I also want to live fit and healthy for as long as possible. I have 2 different training plans that I alternate every 2 days. They consist of a mix of compound and isolation exercises. The basic exercises are also divided equally between both plans. I'm still a long way from my goal, because fitness isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. I love the pump in my muscles after training and the feeling of doing something good for my body. I also follow a lot of bodybuilders to stay motivated.
