"Fitness became a huge part of my life during my military career. It had become a passion that one day led to become a certified fitness instructor. I met a student who also become my coworker who was in prep. I with other coworkers decided to attend her show and that was my introduction to the bodybuilding world. The biggest inspiration was seeing 60 and 70 year olds on stage and I said to myself “I can do better”.

Fitness slowed down a little after military retirement because of struggles to find employment. While inspired by the bodybuilders, I obtained a defeated mindset with the nutrition process. No way I could discipline myself and stay consistent with the process when I love food too much. Plus, job searching had become my new priority. The weight increase became extremely noticeable. An opportunity to participate in a fitness challenge. The rules were lose 20lbs in 6 weeks and successful participates would get a full refund. follow the program as instructed. I accepted not realizing this challenge was created by a bodybuilder. It required my worst fear, nutrition plan. However, I would do whatever it took to come out on top. During the challenge I realized I can do what I set my mind to do and lost more than 20lbs in the end. The bug bit me when my wife recently competed so I pursued bodybuilding.

Although I did this for myself, I was amazed by the support and the inspiration I provided to others. Those who witnessed my journey became more serious with their health and fitness. Some were also motivated and inspired to compete. I vowed to stay in this process as long as possible not only to be my best self, but continue inspiring others to reach their goals."
