"For some people working out is an option. When this option was taken away from me when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and ME (chronic illnesses) I was absolutely heart broken and bed bound. I spent months wishing I was healthy. I still battle through the difficulties of chronic illness everyday but now that I’m able to lift weights and work out I’m grateful for it every single day. Never ever take anything for granted!

I spend every day fatigued and in pain and more so I really have to make an effort to work out. I also get a lot of joint inflammation and issues. I’ve learnt how to work around this. I need a lot more motivation than the normal person! But I don’t plan on letting this stop me.

In terms of lifting I started my journey around 5-6 years ago and I must say it took a long time to learn everything! I still learn new things every time I lift weights from new exercises or correct form. I spent so much time watching YouTube videos and reading Instagram posts to figure out what I should be doing! I started my fitness account around 5 years ago and I’m so glad I did. Sometimes you don’t realise quite how much progress you’ve made! It’s really nice to be able to look back and reflect on my journey.

The sense of achievement and happiness fitness and weight lifting gives me is unbeatable and I want to continue on my journey of trying to be happy and healthy for as long as I possibly can!"
