"I started lifting weights shortly after high school when I noticed my body was changing in a way I’d never experienced before. I was always used to being in good shape because I played football and ran track in high school. I quickly fell in love with working out when I noticed how great my body responded to weight training.
For the last 9 years I’ve stayed consistent with working out as it has boosted my physical strength, my mental strength, and my confidence. It’s also very encouraging to know that my body is not only stronger, but also healthier as a result of working out and staying active. Staying young and having a youthful energetic body for a long time is something I’m also very passionate about. Being active, moving your body, and having goals to chase is something that will keep you young, and keep you striving for progress.
I’m also into really good books, one being Mindset by Carol Dweck. This book is something I highly recommend everyone to read. I’ve used this book and transferred the positive energy from it into my life recently, as I just underwent a surgery to repair my torn pectoral muscle 4 weeks ago. Normally I would’ve thought my bodybuilding career is over. But by having a growth mindset, I know I can overcome this obstacle and come back just as strong, if not stronger and better than before.
If there’s one thing I’d like the world to know, it would be to never underestimate the power of your mind, your beliefs and your self confidence. When you put your mind to something, believe in your heart you can achieve it, and you stay persistent, you’ll be amazed at what you can do!"
