"I was fortunate enough to grow up playing many different sports and was always driven to do my best. I never really struggled with my weight and was always considered pretty thin throughout my life. Lucky me, I know.
I cannot stress it enough that “AGE IS JUST A NUMBER”. At almost 49 years old and 2 beautiful daughters later, I am in the best shape of my life.
Growing up, it was embedded in my mind that in order to be worthy, one needed to be skinny. Over the past 3 1/2 years, I have focused on my fitness goals and really dialed in on my nutrition. I will stress that you can workout hard 6 days a week but if your nutrition is not in check, you are making it harder on yourself. It took a lot of determination, consistency and grit to get to where I am today and my journey is certainly not over. I am still a work in progress but I have seen huge gains and changes in my body composition and my drive to push my body farther than I ever thought possible.
My new mantra is “STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY”! So for anyone thinking age is an excuse, forget about it. You can do anything if you put heart into it. The hardest part to any health and fitness journey is starting so JUST DO IT! Changes do not happen overnight so stay the course and trust the process. If you have a bad day or miss a workout, it is ok. You are human. Just start again the next day. Set your goals and go after them, no matter what age you start. I am rooting for you!"
