MONIKA HERNANDEZ

San Antonio, TX

"I wanted to work out for a better and healthier lifestyle. I started about 5 years ago but never really took it seriously until I weighed myself. 180lbs at 5 feet 4 inches was considered to be overweight so I needed to make some changes. Alcohol and fast food were my first choices that I wanted to change because I needed my mental health to improve. I believe, the mind controls the body so mental health should always be a priority. I slowly changed my diet by learning to cook at home and increased my workouts by going 5 days a week instead of 3. The changes I see now have motivated me to keep going and to stay on track. I never realized how much of a tolerance I built up until I noticed myself running 2.5 miles a day!!!! @linafit is someone I have drawn inspiration from and I also consider a mentor. I am mentally and physically stronger because of this new transformation and I can't wait to see myself in 2 years!!!!! The best advice I can give to someone who is just starting out is don't rush this new journey!!!! It will take time, some tears and a lot of sweat but don't give up and always push yourself outside of the comfort zone!!!! Fear is something that prevents us from being successful and the unknown is always scary. Once the mind, body and soul become fearless, anything is truly possible!!!!!! My name is Monika Hernandez and this is my story."
